Now the city's getting colder again, And in the shadows there are signs, They're getting longer all the time, and the days grow short. I walked home from the station today, Closed my eyes along the way Not so easy now the rain, Is falling hard. Living far out in the suburbs by the city lines, It's the last place in the world you could feel so fine, You know it won’t be so long 'til next year, And we can go from here. Now you pass the time with nothing at all, But the injuries of life, Just drinking beer and getting by on and on, And if you wake up feeling alright, Well it must have been an easy night, No hard memories in sight, to drag you down. Heading over to The Palace for the day, Taking all this time just to while away Looking out into the pale September sun, Now all the days are done. I guess you're getting older again But it's the only life you have, Wasted never seemed so bad, Just for now. Living far out in the suburbs by the city lines, It's the last place in the world you could feel so fine, You know it won’t be so long 'til next year, And we can go from here.

Here, waiting on the closing. Dark, is only coming in. It's hard, to cut it in the meantime, You fall, further in the end. Tonight, I'm crawling inside, A life that I don't own. Tides are always turning after, Sails are broken by the wind, It's time, to lower the flare gun, The light is all but done. It's £1 for emptiness a piece, And this road gets steep, And It's harder to believe When you know there's nothing left to see, And you'll always be, Second on the scene. Done living in the moment, Soon, is always on the way. The grind, a grim reminder, Of childhood long since gone. What have you done, with this yearning for release? The fortunate son, who’s fallen to his knees. Aren’t you the one, who was begging just to leave this behind? There is nothing in the answer, Just hoped to find it in the end. A day spent calling over, A night when no one showed.

Don’t you feel ok, knowing what you’re worth in pay? Long hours might make you better. We spend more than time, At the long end of a line, intent on moving quicker. There’s enough to be sad about, Don’t you feel it’s time for turning out, The sadness in your life? Your tolerances fading to the grind of living right today. So take a number, pick a profit, chose a station for the night. Pour a measure of distraction, you’ll be watching all your life. There’s a lesson learned, just looking on as our life burns, Far from how you expected. And you may dream of resignation, know you’ll get there in the end.

Parity 04:02
Do you think it's better when you're dead? 'Cause I remember feeling "when your father comes home" dread. And you can hope for the wedding gun. Or you could run for America, risen in the sun; is it red? Start another day upon the Earth Always someone there to judge, what every hour is worth. But you could live with the poverty, If you could swallow the liberty, given out at birth, is it right? Some day you’ll feel the heart of fear, For some day you’ll be alone. No others for to share your tears, No one to sing along. Everything's a lesson to be learned. So bring another Jesus out 'cause someone's gotta burn. But there's no guilt in a miracle, We’re built just to get a kill, for anything at all, at every turn. So put another chapter in the fire, Lay another symbol up on pallets upon tyres, Or we could try for parity, Open eyes with honesty written in the will of every liar.
